Relations
As a sign of the improving relations between East and West, in early March 1992, two B-58Gs, one KC-10A tanker and fiftyeight personnel of the 2nd Bomb Wing flew to Dyagilevo Air Base near Ryazan, Russia. In May 1992 two Soviet Tu-95 Bear bombers and an An-24 Condor transport, with fiftyeight airmen, paid a reciprocal visit to Barksdale AFB. Such visits would have been unthinkable during the Cold War.
